John McDonald is an entrepreneur with a varied background in nightlife, restaurants and media. Starting in 1993 with SoHo's iconic MercBar, McDonald grew his New York City restaurant portfolio to include Lure Fishbar New York, Lure Miami, Lure Chicago, Bowery Meat Company, Burger & Barrel, Bistrot Leo, Butterfly, and the private roof bar, A60.
For 10 years, he was the founder and editorial director for CITY Magazine, a three-time National Magazine Winner for photography and design. In 2008, he co-founded Tasting Table, a daily email publication with a focus on food, dining and recipes. Additional ventures include EBOOST, a performance supplement and beverage brand.
